The Third Reference Group Meeting on Nuclear & Radiological Emergency Preparedness

The Third Reference Group Meeting
on Nuclear & Radiological Emergency Preparedness

About the Reference Group Meeting in Fukushima

Following the severe Earthquake and Tsunami which triggered the Nuclear Power Plant Accident in March 2011 in Japan, Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies adopted Resolution / Decision on ‘RCRC Preparedness to Response to the Humanitarian Consequence of Nuclear Accidents’ at the IFRC General Assembly in November 2011. To follow-up on the implementation and operationalization of this resolution, several meetings were held. This is the Third Reference Group Meeting with the participants from 16 countries across the world to discuss on the Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Preparedness and Response Guidelines (IFRC Guidelines) and move towards the next RCRC Movement’s statutory meeting in December 2015.
